Despite the weather warnings that called for rain for the majority of the weekend, we had great weather, spend-the-day-outside weather (not doing cleaning and crafts inside weather) and took full advantage.
Saturday was walk our legs off around downtown Ottawa day... brought the kids' bikes with us, parked near the Archives, and walked along the river all the way to the Market, wandered around Majors Hill Park a bit so the kids could get balloon animals, ate hotdogs in front of the tv station building, then walked back to the car. We were all happily exhausted after that!
Sunday was gardening day (and the muscles at the back of my legs are still yelling at me.) Raised up the stone border around the front bed, cleaned it up, planted, then mulched, and planted flowers in the neighbour's bed. Back yard will get done after work during the week.
Since the weather was still holding out, Monday turned into a road trip to Montreal. We parked in the Eaton Center, wandered around it, the Les Ailes mall and the tunnel level some (although none of that is shopping to my 'taste' - I couldn't care less about outrageously overpriced - and largely ugly - clothing and shoes.) Decided to take the kids for their first ever subway ride:
We went off to the Olympic Stadium, wandered around there a bit, then took the subway back up to Atwater and strolled up Catherine St. W. to look around. All that walking sure tired the kidlets out!
So yeah... very messy house... but fun family weekend!
